Sad to report that my boy did not make allstars. We don't know why, but we know we prayed for God's will and for some reason, this was not His will. It does not make it much better right now for a sad, sad boy. He is taking it a little personal.

On your Face
Zoe Elmore

“I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.” Galatians 2:20 (NIV)

One morning as I was gazing into the mirror to “put on my face” for the day, I heard the Lord whisper to my heart, “Why do you spend more time ‘putting on your face’ than you spend on your face before me each morning?” Oh my goodness - what a powerful question!

My heart sank as I put the cosmetics away and went to my quiet place to spend time with Jesus. I had to confess out loud, “Lord, You are right. I have been spending more time gazing in the mirror than praying or gazing into Your Word and Your face.” Once again, I was living like the old person I was before receiving Christ and not the new person I had been transformed into. Once again, I had allowed my desire for outer beauty to take priority over my inner beauty.

Now don’t misunderstand me here; I’m not suggesting it’s necessary to put away my cosmetics forever and go through life looking frumpy. Honey, that is not likely to happen. I haven’t left the house without a little lip gloss and mascara since I was sixteen! But I need some balance. Maintaining balance is only possible if I remember to keep my priorities in the right order - prayer before primping.

I have to remember that as a believer, Christ has moved in and dwells within my heart and within my life. As I allow this relationship to grow, my life will demonstrate His presence and others will see past my make-up to the make up of my heart. Proverbs 31:30 is the perfect reminder of this fact, “Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting: but the woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” (NIV)

If you share my struggle of balancing the quest for outer vs. inner beauty, I want to encourage you to join me in memorizing four little words: “Pray before you primp.” I’ve put these words on my mirror as a daily reminder to keep Christ first.

Remember friends, while the temptation to consider outer beauty more important than inner beauty is ever-present in our culture; those who believe in Christ can be delivered from it. Because Christ lives in every believer, we have hope of overcoming our unhealthy obsessions. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we can live life in proper balance.

I invite you to join me as we get “on our face before we put on our face”. As we pray and gaze into His Word to seek Him first, we will experience a change from the inside out and our lives will become a beautiful reflection of His presence.

Dear Lord, forgive me for making outer beauty more important than inner beauty. Refresh and restore my desire to gaze into Your word and into Your face. I want my life to reflect Your glory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

It's Tuesday and so far today I have had these kids in and out of my house: Ivey, Robby, Elijah, Harrison, Kaylen, Jake, Melik, Makaey, Kasey, Allie and Joel. (not to mention, one greyhound, one bunny and one kitten). I have served 5 cups of orange Koolaid, 5 bowls of jello (BIG hit with kids) and in between done laundry and catchup from the weekend. I want a nap...

Has it started for anyone else? "Momma, can we go swimming today?" This will happen everyday all we cannot go today because Robby and I have sunburn. " But Momma, there is shade at the pool...NO! I want a nap...

Dad" results from his PET scan: lungs are clear, no change in the 2 spots on his liver, they are still there. He will see a cardiologist tomorrow morning for a venus doppler and CT of his lungs because he is not breathing well. In June he will have an arteriogram because of pain in his legs...chemo continues and more doctor visits to follow. I am so glad my Daddy is here today!

Robby finds out the end of this week if he has made the all-star team. He tried out last week and they will not post the team until this tournament is over...waiting stinks!

To those of you who prayed for us last week...thank you! The prayers were felt and by Friday afternoon I could feel the beginning of relief and recovery. I don't want to go into any details, but just know we were under attack. It just makes me aware all the more that satan really seeks to destroy our ministry by getting to our family.

Sunday was a GREAT DAY! We were also surprised by a visit to church from friends of ours from Plainfield...Chuck and Penny, Allie and Dallas. We enjoyed spending the afternoon catching up with each other. What a nice surprise! God is so good.

I got to tell you, I love, love flowers!!! I am so tickled about this pot of gerber daisies on my front porch. I cannot believe they are so big and blooming so much. I just had to share my joy with ya(doesn't take much to excite me). These have come back for the past 2 yrs and I added one new yellow plant to the pot. I go crazy when spring gets here and I am dangerous in a greenhouse!!! I get it honest, though.
The other pic is of our house. When we first looked at pictures of houses for sale, the picture of ours was ugly. It was taken in the winter and the gray color is quite dull. But I think it is an odd shaped house. An architect designed this house for his family and the inside is great for us. We have really enjoyed it. We are on a culdesac with 5 families with children, so we have lots of friends for the kids to hang out with. I took this picture just in case we ever wanted to sell and needed a good shot. The tree on the left of the house is the most giant crepe myrtle I have ever seen.
We have made new friends with a family down the street. They are a black family with 2 boys and one little girl. The boys come up and play with our boys. I have laughed at Elijah getting used to their names...Makaey and Melik (sp?) and their dreadlocks. Yesterday he told them they needed to write their names down for him so he could remember them...he can't read...I just laughed...Keith said to me one day that he was glad to see a little color back in our lives! I agree!! I would love more color around here all the time.....

Thank you Keisha for redesigning my blog! It looks SO much better!! Girl, you got talent.

Well, after 3 LONG days without power, Mom and Dad have good ol' electricity! woohoo!!

Pray for my hubby, he is overwhelmed right now with the church plant list of things that need to be done, not to mention keeping up with the kiddos games and life with us. Sometimes the juggling act is really hard. Then you add taxes, checking the books, insurance, ........... it goes on and on...then he gets sick on top of that and just feels puny. Bless his heart! I wish a big squeeze and kiss would make it all better, but oh well!

F-2 Tornado welcomes Mother's Day

We awoke around 5am this morning to tornado sirens blaring. Winds were gusting, rain pelting down on our roof, Doppler radar showing lots of reds and yellows filling the screen. Power went out around 7am. We still held church, not knowing the damage was so horrendous around Macon. On our side of town their was not much damage...just the usual Bradford pear tree split in half and some trees twisted in two. But on the way to my folks after lunch, we were shocked to see some of these sights as shown in the pics. The area where I grew up was like a war zone. The last picture is of what is left of my weekday baby, Avery's, daddy's workplace. It is no longer a functioning business. Traffic lights were ripped off of lines and were no where to be found...gone and only wires left hanging. 58,000 people reported with no power, no school tomorrow, lots and lots of trees twisted and mangled all over. Roofs torn up, trees over was incredible, devastating to see. We drove by and over and over thanked God for getting us safely through the storm with no damage. We couldn't complain about no power after seeing those sights. One of my fellow blogger friends had a tree crush her car. I am so sorry to hear about that! This will surely be a Mother's day that will be remembered.

I'm gettin' old...

Yesterday was home school day at Six Flags and so we took Ivey and Robby for some fun. We didn't take Elijah because we didn't have enough time to do little kids rides and big kids rides and just figured the older ones needed their time with us. Elijah stayed with my Grandmother and Seth. Seth is home recovering from surgery on his elbow.

I will never ride the Scream Machine or Ga Cyclone again. They yank your neck off! I still have a headache from those two.

But we arrived 30 minutes early and were able to be the third group to ride the new Goliath ride. It was awesome!!! We rode all the rides and left by 3:30. We had a great time!!! I also recognized a blogger friend and her family and loved meeting them in person!! (Laine Ferrill)

We also ran into the Clegg's...former owners of our horse, Cassie. I just love talking with Angela about how God brought us together. We prayed and prayed for God's direction in finding the right horse for Ivey and we did! We also made great friends. Ivey's riding teacher told her on Thursday that she really "lucked up" on a great horse. There was no luck involved, just God.

Back to Six Flags...the weather was great and we all loved Superman and Batman the best...except for Keith - he liked the Scorcher. So glad we were able to go...

Robby had a late game last night (8pm)...whose idea was that??? It took 2 hours to play 3 innings! NOT a good game...not a fun year of baseball for him...We love football four million times more! Can I just say it is pretty funny when your 10 yr old recognizes poor coaching decisions and the reality that the coach's son is favored. Coach asked the boys after the game last night what they thought could have been done different and the response was "pitching". He said, well, I don't want to blame the game on pitching...can I tell you the score was 13/2 and the other team only got about 4 hits and the rest were walks/steals all the way to home...just plain aggravating to watch

Three calls within the last 12 hours:
1. my nephew rolled his 4 wheeler last night and was taken to Egleston where he had pins put in his elbow - fractured and dislocated elbow, he is on his way home this morning after leaving recovery. Praise that it was no more serious than his elbow, especially if you had seen how he rides!
2. Members at our former church found out that their son was found dead in his apartment, autopsy to be done to determine cause of death.
3. Member and friend at New City had surgery last week for breast cancer...stage muscle, tissue, lymph nodes...chemo, etc. to come...

"I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God; incline your ear to me; hear my words. Wondrously show your steadfast love, O Savior of those who seek refuge from their adversaries at your right hand." Psalm 17:6

" I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
In my distress I call upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry reached his ears." Psalm 18:1-3, 6
" The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love." Ps. 145:8

yes, we made it through last week! Keith did fine with the kiddos...he's a pro at it these days. I had a great time at the homeschool conference! The speakers were awesome, the book sale went well, and I ate way too much. I went with another friend and there were 6 of us total at the hotel. We ate at Cheesecake Factory -YUM!! brought our cheesecakes back to the room, got in our jammies and chatted and ate great dessert. We also went to Maggiano's and had great Italian food. (I recommend the four cheese ravioli). I returned home tired, but content and glad to have gone. I laughed sooo much!
Sunday, I went to a baby shower for a good friend, Cindy. She is the mother of triplet boys, age 6 and she is expecting a son in June. I had a great time, once again laughing alot and eating alot.
Monday, Robby had an 8pm game. It lasted until 10pm and came down to the last out - 13/12, we won! It was a great game and Robby played really well, all of the boys worked really hard.
Today, I had to meet the farrier at the barn and get new shoes put on the horse.

We are praying about adopting again, this time an older child. Pray with us for God's direction and provision. I am talking with someone about a 3 yr old. I am also reading up on attachment disorder and anything pertaining to adopting. Robby and ELijah are all for it, Ivey is a little hesitant about another "baby". Pray for her as well.

Time to go finish math...

Yea!! Hubby's home.

Now, I leave today around 2pm for the GHEA conference in Atlanta. It will be exciting, motivating and nice to be with ladies for a few days. I will be back sometime SAturday night.

Pray for Keith as he will be here with the kiddos, this morning one of our precious people in our church is having surgery today for breast cancer, (pretty radical stuff), he also has first Friday at the cafe tomorrow night, 2 baseball games this weekend and catching up to do for church on Sunday.

Oh, and while Keith was gone on Sunday...I found our cat Ladybug dead in the I had to bury her and hug crying children all night. :( sad day for us)
